25th Silver Jubilee Season

Music from the Left Coast

Tuesday, October 3, 2017 @ 7:30 pm

We open our Silver Jubliee Season, our 25th year as a performing ensemble, with sound from the "Left Coast". Hollywood has given us some of the most memorable music of the last 100 years. From the big screen to the small screen, melodies stick in our ear for generations. Not only do they set the mood of the picture, sometimes they become TOP 10 hits! Join us for a trip through time and just see how much of the music we play you remember! Maybe, you didn’t even know it came from the silver screen!

  • Adult - $10
  • SSU Student w/ID - $5
  • Child over 12 - $5
  • Child 12 and under - Free

A Christmas Celebration!

Saturday, December 16, 2017 @ 7:30 pm

We hope you will join us for our 25th annual Christmas concert. We will play and sing our way through some traditional Christmas tunes, introduce you to some new songs, and take some time to reflect on the blessings we all enjoy.

  • Adult - $10
  • SSU Student w/ID - $5
  • Child over 12 - $5
  • Child 12 and under - Free

Saturday, April 14, 2018 @ 7:30 pm

It is widely believed that the very first musical instruments invented by man were percussion instruments. Maybe a hollow log was used to communicate over long distances, signaling danger, an event, or even... "Time for Dinner!!" We will feature our percussion section and maybe a surprise guest soloist to romp through some fun and interesting percussion tunes. Some you will know, some you will not, but all you will enjoy!

  • Adult - $10
  • SSU Student w/ID - $5
  • Child over 12 - $5

Salute to America

Wednesday, July 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm

We wrap up our Silver Jubliee Season with this performance in the park as we salute the United States of America. We will invite past conductors of the Portsmouth Community Orchestra and the Portsmouth Wind Symphony to join us as we wrap up our first 25 years!

Our old friend, recording artist Steve Free and his band will join us as we find patriotic music to fill the outdoor space of beautiful Tracy Park in downtown Portsmouth. Join us for an old fashioned "party in the park" to honor America and then go down to the riverfront and watch the fireworks extravaganza!

All concerts take place in the main theater of Shawnee State University's Vern Riffe Center for the Arts in Portsmouth, Ohio with the exception of Salute to America which takes place in Tracy Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Check out some videos of our past concerts on Facebook!
